Film festivals

London Indepdant Film Festival (Liff) is a premier for low budget films in the UK. Mainly indie genres, Liff is a great showcase for up coming directors to show off their work to a large audience, and hopefully popular films would gain sponsors for the directors next project.
Liff is a great festival for first time and second time directors who have been overlooked by other major film festivals and have not been given a chance.  Liff selects the best of low budget films, both from UK and other foreign countries. Liff then 'Mixes it up with revelent industry discussions and targeted social networking events'.
Liff festival is a chance for indie film makes to display their work to a large film community.

Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) displays more then 60 films throughout the festival. Genres range from Documentaries to indie film makers. EIFF displays films that are unique and may never be shown again on a UK cinema screen. EIFF was one of the world's first international film festivals 1947.  EIFF not only explores the UK's most talented films but also international films, this year saw the premier of 'Last Cirucs' a short film which won the director, Alex del la lglesia, best direcotor in Venice in 2010.  EIFF also explores the musical change of film through a range of famous artists, KT Turnstall, Laurie Anderson to name a few.   The festival is over a week long event.

Festival De Cannes is a world famous international film festival celebrating both credited films and upcoming films and directors.  The main aim of this festival is to boost both the credability of the film industry and the development of the cinema at an international level. Festival De Cannes is most famous for seeking and broadcasting a range of new talent, from new cinema films to launching careers of up coming directors.
Festival De Cannes also has a 'Short Film Corner', established in 2004, the 'Short Film Corner' is a miniuture festival for film producers/ directors to showcase their work and to take steps into gaining a successful future in film. Short Film Corner is created by different setions of workshops, talks and selections. Links with successful film industries are availabe for candiates and can be viewed in 'Directors Week' and 'Film Fortnight'.The result of this festival is a film being selected for an international film festival bringing more credability to the director. All films would be viewed by festival-goers, again gaining more credability for the director.
